Analysis of Frictional Vibration Damper with Structural Friction Taken into Consideration
Vibrations in a power transmission system with a frictional vibration damper during
steady motion have been analysed with regard to the structural friction. Vibrations
were excited by a harmonic force. The problem is considered on the assumption of a
uniform unit pressure distribution between the contacting surfaces of friction discs
and plunger. The aim of the analysis is to asses the influence of geometric
parameters and external load on the resonance curves. The equation of motion of
the examined system was solved by means of the Van der Pol method and, in order
to compare the results, by means of numerical simulation.
